    I will be giving a talk The Artist's Hand in a Technological World as part of a seminar on the challenges of art and technology delves into how contemporary technological changes have transformed the creation and understanding of art. Lecturers from Iceland and the United States analyze the successful and controversial relationship between art and technology and explore the challenges and possibilities that arise when these fields meet. The seminar is intended to enable artists, art historians and art enthusiasts to connect and exchange knowledge on new research in this field. The other two speakers are Agnes Ársælsdóttir and Hlynur Helgason.

    Stories Unknown shares insight into Goodwill's mission by using repurposed textiles collected from Goodwill Outlets in central Indiana. Riede has sewn, knotted and woven strips of fabric together into an architectural composition that redefines the exhibition space. Light, shadow and negative space are critical elements of the work.

John Oliver Lewis and Jessica McCambly invited me to participate in this virtual studio visit. The images show an installation detail, relics from crafts that I've collected, an image related to a future project and a video still from a work that I created with artist Alberto Baraya.
